Yume

These are notes made while shopping for my next computer. Yume is the Japanese word for "dreams", since I must be dreaming to think I can afford all of this. Some of these parts will probably not be included in the final computer, at least not in the near future.

I decided to downgrade the processor (from 600 MHz) and spend some of the extra money on PC133 HSDRAM and a 10K RPM hard drive. That helps the bottom line a lot, plus it will make it easy to take advantage of one of the new Pentium III chips designed for 133MHz FSB (if I decide I need more speed next year).

Parts are starting to arrive in the mail now. I'm still waiting for a few minor PC parts (processor, memory...) but my 19-inch monitor did arrive yesterday. I hooked it up to my laptop, looked at my web pages, and immediately said, "Whoa! Who chose those colors?" I honestly had no idea this page was purple. Heh heh.

OK, everything has now arrived, the computer is assembled, and 3D games have been played. Now I just need to buy a PCI modem, and I can get down to work. I'll move most of this stuff to another page once I choose a suitable name for the beast.
