(January 27, 1999)
- The pages have been reorganized to make the layout a bit clearer.
Previous news updates have been moved to a separate page, linked
below.
- Earlier this month
Ronny's 3x3
Eyes Translations page was updated, and it now contains completed
translation for volumes 27, 28, and 29.
- Amy X. King, who was translating volume 9, seems to have vanished.
Fan translators do that a lot, unfortunately. Amy, if you are out
there, please get in touch.
(December 14, 1998)
- Volume 30 of the manga was published on December 4. Full details are
in the manga chapter list. As usual,
my translations leave something to be desired.
- Any comments on the new page layout? Love it, hate it? I'm not all
that thrilled myself, so any suggested improvements would be welcome.
(December 3, 1998)
- I finally moved the chapter list to a separate page, and made zip
files available for downloading. Please don't redistribute the zips;
they're only here to save you the trouble of downloading each of the
pages individually. As usual, let me know if I screwed up somehow.
- I had to modify the Search engine to
work with the new layout (don't ask), and you can now search the
3x3 Eyes Mailing List archives as well.
(November 4, 1998)
- John Rong has translated chapter 6
of manga vol. 10.
(October 18, 1998)
- John Rong has translated chapter 5
of manga vol. 10.
(September 20, 1998)
- John Rong is back from wherever he was, and he is continuing his
translations of volume 10. Chapter 4 has been added below.
- The text translations have now been converted to HTML. I chopped the
titles off the original translations, using the titles from the list
below. Duplicate translations were removed from the list as well, but
all of the original text files can be found in the
Files area. The translations, as well
as the whole site, can be searched from the
Search page. (Let me know if there are
any serious problems with the converted files. I know there's
tabdamage and stuff, but hey, as long as you can read them...)
(August 8, 1998)
- Manga volume 29 was just published on August 6. The chapters have
been added to the list below. I got to try out my new dictionary,
Kenkyusha's Shin Wa-Ei Daijiten, a.k.a. the "Green Goddess".
My translations aren't very good, and sometimes it's hard to capture
the sense of the original kanji. For example, falls in
the first chapter title implies falling or scattering leaves. Yes,
Yakumo gets blasted to bits once again.
- Another Yuzo Takada manga, Genzou Hitogata Kiwa, was just published
in tankoubon form. I will have more information on the News page
soon. It's somewhat similar to 3x3 Eyes, though set in the samurai
era. If I find translations, I'll make them available here.
(August 5, 1998)
- I am trying to organize a list of people working on volumes that do
not have translations here. Currently I have only heard from
Amy X King, who is working
on Vol. 9.
-
Sazan Eyes Manga Translations is a site by
William Kyngesburye devoted
to proofreading and converting the old text translations from the
venice and ramp archives into HTML.
